History of the streets of the Old Lille |
Rue Saint Sébastien |
| The street owes its name with the saint-sebastien vault. This one is located in the cemetery of the béguinage, in which the people died with the Comtesse old people's home are buried. |
Rue Saint André |
| The place takes this denomination because of its proximity with the Saint-Andrew church completed in 1758 and thus baptized in 1784. As for the street, it is called “of Proeulx” to its opening. Under the revolution, places and street are both called “Andre” then, under the First Empire, “Napoleon”. On April 15, 1814, one returns in the place his initial denomination and one allots to the street the same name. |
